2.1 The Committee heard evidence from Lesley Griffiths MS, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and Social Justice, and Jeremy Miles MS, Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Welsh Language.

 

2.2 Apologies were received from Ruth Meadows, Director, Culture, Heritage and Sport, Welsh Government.

 

2.3 The Committee agreed to write with questions not reached during the hour evidence session.

3.2 The Committee agreed to write to both the Welsh Government and the Books Council of Wales to request information and clarity around issues relating to the distribution of funding for magazines by the Books Council of Wales.

 

3.3 The Committee agreed to write to the Welsh Government to ask for information relating to the impact of funding cuts on the Welsh National Opera.

6.1 In addition to writing with questions not reached, the Committee agreed to write to the Welsh Government to ask for its view on re-joining Creative Europe and any other relevant EU programmes.

 

6.2 The Committee also agreed to write to Arts Infopoint UK and the Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media at the Houses of the Oireachtas to invite written evidence in relation to its inquiry.
